As a Trainee Mechanical Project Manager, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting the delivery of mechanical projects within the water sector.
The role provides a clear pathway for career progression, offering structured training and mentoring from experienced Project Managers on smaller project works for a large water site. You’ll split your time between the office, supporting with project planning and administration, and on-site, where you’ll gain exposure to the practical aspects of mechanical installations, tanks, and pumping equipment.
Assist Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and delivering projects.
Support in preparing project documentation, including Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Help organise and order materials for projects.
Shadow and support in overseeing contractors and operatives on-site.
Learn to liaise with clients and provide updates on project progress.
Assist with scheduling, reporting, and maintaining accurate project records.
Support health & safety compliance across all project activities.
Participate in site inductions, toolbox talks, and audits.

Ability to read and interpret basic technical drawings.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Full UK driving licence.
Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
Minimum of 2 years experience in a mechanical project role
Previous experience would be within water industry would be an advantage
