Street Cleansing Driver

Driver – Category B Licence (Standard Car Licence)
Location: Barnsley
Pay: £13.26 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm (early Friday finish at 2:00pm)

We’re looking for reliable drivers to join a busy team working across the borough, helping to keep the community clean, safe and well maintained.

What you’ll be doing

• Driving council vehicles and carrying out daily checks
• Supporting with street cleansing, weed removal and grubbing out
• Clearing fly-tipping and void gardens
• Assisting with waste and rubbish removal
• Using a range of equipment (powered, mechanical and hand tools)
• Working outdoors in all weather

What we’re looking for

• A full UK driving licence (Category B as a minimum) less than 6 points and no endorsements
• Someone physically fit and able to carry out manual tasks
• A team player who can also work independently
• Awareness of safe working practices and Health & Safety
• Good communication skills when dealing with colleagues and the public
