Job description:

We are recruiting for a Solar Project Manager with a Head office based in Hull and additional offices in Sheffield and Bournemouth. The client is actively seeking candidates who possess a solid background in managing solar projects for the full lifecycle, from initial conception to final commissioning and handover.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate resilience and tenacity, showcasing the ability to learn on the job while excelling in managing solar projects and working cross-functionally.

They are looking for individuals who bring a proactive and optimistic approach to challenges, along with the adaptability to thrive in a dynamic business environment. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential, as is the ability to build and nurture relationships both internally and externally for the delivery of the projects.

The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of commercial and residential solar projects.

The role requires a team player who can collaborate effectively while contributing innovative ideas. Learning agility is crucial, as the industry evolves, and seeking individuals who can quickly grasp new concepts, technologies, and market dynamics.

Key activities:

  • Manage all aspects of solar PV projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Oversee project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage procurement, project budgets, and ensure financial reporting accuracy.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks and ensure project compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of project delivery processes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 year’s experience in project management, preferably within the renewable energy sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong understanding of solar PV technology and its applications.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team including with PV Technical designers
