  • Participation in a 1-in-4 call-out rota is required, providing 24/7 emergency coverage.

About the Company

Our client is seeking an experienced Wastewater Pump Engineer to support their continued growth

The successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, fault-finding, and repair of sewage treatment plants across a wide range of commercial and domestic sites, as well as supporting refurbishment and installation projects where required.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain, and repair sewage treatment plants of all sizes
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults on-site
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
  • Work on pump stations and associated wastewater infrastructure
  • Support refurbishment and installation projects (where applicable)
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Complete accurate service reports and documentation
  • Liaise professionally with clients and site contacts

 

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience maintaining sewage treatment plants
  • Strong experience across commercial and/or domestic wastewater systems
  • Proven mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
  • Must be familiar with major STP manufactures along with STP process.
  • Ability to work independently across multiple sites
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Must be based in or within commuting distance of Kent

 

 

 

Essential Tickets / Certifications

Candidates should hold (or be willing to obtain where appropriate):

  • Confined Space Entry (Medium Risk or High Risk)
  • CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)
  • SHEA Water (Safety, Health and Environmental Awareness – Water) or equivalent
  • Electrical qualification (City & Guilds Level 2/3 or equivalent)
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Manual Handling Training
  • Working at Height Certification (where required)
  • First Aid at Work (preferred)

 

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with pump station maintenance and repair
  • Familiarity with MEICA systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation)
  • Experience in project management of large refurbishments and/or installations (desired but not essential)
  • Experience across both commercial and domestic wastewater systems
  • Knowledge of telemetry and control systems
  • Background in utilities or water industry sector
