We have a exciting role for a Senior Estimator/Estimating manager for a rapidly expanding Facilities Management business, They are a leading provider of M&E, Building Services and Facilities Management solutions across the retail, leisure and commercial sectors

The Role

As Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for managing all estimating activities for FM and small project works with the support of a Estimator/QS.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Estimator/Quantity Surveyor.
  • Manage estimating workloads and priorities to ensure deadlines are achieved.
  • Promote continuous improvement and commercial best practice throughout the estimating function.

Estimating & Commercial Management

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, quotations, and tender submissions.
  • Compile submissions in accordance with agreed Schedule of Rates (SORs).
  • Review project specifications, drawings, contracts, and tender documentation.
  • Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
  • Develop labour and material cost models using industry standards, including SFG20 guidance.
  • Monitor project budgets and provide cost forecasting support.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Attend client meetings, pre-tender discussions, and site visits.
  • Work closely with Contracts Managers to ensure smooth project handovers.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing and negotiate favourable terms.

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced estimator with a strong commercial mindset and previous management or mentoring experience.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Significant experience in estimating within Facilities Management, Building Services, Mechanical & Electrical, general Construction environments.
  • Experience leading, mentoring, or managing estimating teams.
  • Strong understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, and Building Fabric works.
  • Experience preparing tenders and cost submissions.
  • Experience working with Schedule of Rates (SORs).
  • Excellent commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Strong client relationship and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and estimating software skills.
  • Experience using CAFM systems.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
