Pay Rate: £16.12 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00am to 4:00pm (40 hours per week)
Contract: Temporary Ongoing

About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Resident Liaison Officer (RLO) to support planned maintenance and refurbishment projects within occupied residential properties across Barnsley.

As the main point of contact for residents, you will be responsible for ensuring customers are kept informed throughout the works programme, managing expectations, and delivering a positive customer experience.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and customer-focused individual with previous Resident Liaison Officer (RLO) or Tenant Liaison Officer (TLO) experience within social housing, planned maintenance, or property services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for residents during planned maintenance and refurbishment works.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with tenants, residents, and project teams.
  • Keep residents informed of upcoming works, schedules, and any project updates.
  • Carry out resident consultations, home visits, and welfare checks where required.
  • Manage resident enquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support vulnerable residents and ensure individual needs are considered throughout the project.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident engagement activities and feedback.
  • Work closely with site teams to help achieve customer satisfaction targets.

Requirements

Essential

  • Previous experience as a Resident Liaison Officer, Tenant Liaison Officer, or in a similar customer-facing role.
  • Experience working within social housing, planned maintenance, refurbishment, or property services.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations professionally and effectively.

Certifications Required

  • DBS Check.
  • Asbestos Awareness Certificate (UKATA or IATP accredited).

Desirable

  • Experience supporting planned works or refurbishment projects within occupied homes.
  • Understanding of resident engagement and customer care within a social housing environment.
  • Full UK driving licence.
