Refuse Collector

Our client offer a range of services to the Huddersfield area, one of these services is household bin collections. We are working with them to recruit Refuse Collectors on a temporary ongoing basis.

Refuse Collector Tasks:

• Collect refuse from bins or bags presented at designated collection points or from households that require assisted support. Return bins without causing obstruction in line with expectations.
• Collect garden, other bagged waste, bulky items; assist with skip collections and provision of liners as required.
• Safely operating lifting equipment and undertake work in line with risk assessments and operator’s guidance.
• Comply with procedures and service expectations.
• Assist in stickering and provision of information to the public on refuse collection arrangements
• Provide guidance and assist with the training of less experienced staff on operational matters.
• Communicate appropriately with customers, staff and other stakeholders.
• Undertaking other cleaning duties, support waste sort arrangements and delivery of new bins as required.
• Commitment to a work pattern which reflects service delivery needs.
• Report any accidents, faults or repair needs promptly.
• Ensures arrangements for security are followed

This role is physically demanding due to the nature of the work so please take this into consideration when applying.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 7am till finish (usually 3pm), the role is based in HD1

Pay rate is £12.18ph
