About the Role:
Multitask Personnel is recruiting on behalf of the Barnsley Local Authority for a skilled Receptionist/Administrator to join their team on a short-term basis. This role is office-based and involves a variety of administrative and reception duties aimed at delivering excellent customer service.


Key Responsibilities:
•    Provide a warm and professional welcome to families and professionals, both in person and over the phone.
•    Deliver high-quality, customer-focused reception support for all visitors and inquiries.
•    Support a multi-agency team with clerical and administrative tasks.
•    Procure goods within policy and financial guidelines, ensuring accurate record-keeping.
•    Manage petty cash, process invoices, and ensure regular reconciliation and banking.
•    Coordinate and facilitate meetings, including minute-taking and preparation of meeting rooms.
•    Manage incoming and outgoing mail, keeping accurate records for outgoing items.
•    Monitor and maintain stock levels and supplies.
•    Maintain organised filing systems, both manual and electronic.
•    Data entry, including personal data, to ensure systems are up-to-date.
•    Assist in managing staff absence records, flexi-time, and TOIL as per BMBC policies.
•    Perform general administrative duties as required.


Qualifications & Skills:
•    Proven experience in a reception/administrative role.
•    Strong customer service skills, with a professional and positive demeanour.
•    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, and data entry systems.
•    Ability to work well within a multi-agency team environment.
