Project Operations Manager - Utility Services

Location: Edinburgh, Scotland

Salary: Circa £65k

 

Summary:

Our client, a reputable privately owned civil engineering and multi-utility company, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead their delivery Team in Edinburgh. This role is crucial for managing the day-to-day operations, ensuring client satisfaction, and maintaining high standards of service delivery, either in a permanent position or on a contract basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and lead a team of Project Managers (PMs) to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and directors, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Oversee the execution of projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards and project specifications.
  • Manage the daily operations of the LV services framework, including planning, execution, and delivery of projects.
  • Monitor and control the budget, ensuring cost-effective delivery of services.
  • Ensure all operations comply with relevant safety standards and regulations, particularly in cable laying and electrical network services.
  • Track and report on project performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in the power sector, specifically in LV services.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of cable laying and electrical networks.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with clients and directors.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects and budgets.
  • Familiarity with civil engineering, trenchless technology, excavation, and reinstatement practices.
  • NERS accreditation knowledge is advantageous.
