Project Manager - EV Charging Infrastructure

Salary: £450 per day

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong civil engineering background and extensive experience delivering commercial EV charging infrastructure and substation projects.

This is a client-facing contract role, working on multiple commercial EV charging hub projects for high-profile clients. The successful candidate will oversee projects from initial scoping through to final handover, ensuring quality, programme and client expectations are achieved throughout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients.
  • Carry out site scoping visits for new EV charging hub installations.
  • Liaise closely with the design team throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure designs comply with client specifications and project requirements.
  • Prepare project costings (experience with schedule of rates is advantageous).
  • Manage contractual arrangements throughout delivery.
  • Deliver projects under NEC4 framework agreements (previous NEC4 framework experience is highly desirable).
  • Produce weekly progress reports and provide regular client updates.
  • Procure and coordinate subcontract labour, plant and materials.
  • Manage the complete construction process from mobilisation through to commissioning and handover.
  • Oversee multiple live projects simultaneously.

  • Project values typically ranging from £300,000 to £600,000.
  • Managing 4–6 projects concurrently.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager within civil engineering or utility infrastructure.
  • Strong commercial EV charging and substation project experience is essential.
  • Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design and construction teams.
  • Good commercial awareness and project costing experience.
  • NEC4 framework experience is highly desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites within approximately one hour of Chesterfield.
