Job Title: Mechanical Estimator

Salary: Circa £60,000 + Benefits

Location: Hybrid with travel to South Yorkshire

Multitask Personnel are working alongside one of the UK’s leading multi-disciplined service providers based in Sheffield, offering a coordinated package of mechanical, electrical, data / IT services, and facilities management solutions. Due to expansion, we are currently looking for a Mechanical Estimator to join this fantastic organisation.

Job Role:

The Mechanical Estimator will support the Mechanical department by overseeing all aspects of estimating within this division. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and timely estimates, maintaining data, and supporting the business as required.

Responsibilities:

• Gather proposals, plans, specifications, and related documents.
• Identify labour, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, plans, specifications, and related documents.
• Compile costs by analysing labour, material, and time requirements.
• Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analysing information.
• Present prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
• Prepare special reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends.
• Maintain a cost database by entering and backing up data.
• Maintain a log of all estimates, tracking win/loss rates and reasoning.
• Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing technical publications.
• Support the business in any way necessary as requested by Directors or Management.

Skill Set Required:

• Excellent customer-facing skills.
• Experience as a Mechanical Estimator
• Strong spoken and written communication abilities.
• Good organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Respect for confidentiality due to handling personal employee details.
• Proficiency in using databases, spreadsheets, word processing, and Excel.
• Excellent numeracy skills.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
