About the Role

Due to new contract wins and growth, ur client is are seeking an experienced and commercially minded M&E Buyer to join their growing team based near Chesterfield. They specialise in delivering high-quality Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) projects across the Commercial and Retail sectors, and this role will play a key part in supporting their continued success.

You will be responsible for the procurement of materials, plant, and subcontract services for multiple M&E projects, ensuring best value, quality, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of M&E materials and subcontract packages across projects
• Source, negotiate, and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
• Ensure cost-effective purchasing in line with project budgets
• Prepare and issue enquiries, analyse quotations, and make recommendations
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply chain risks
• Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting

About You

• Proven experience as a Buyer within the M&E industry
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
• Good understanding of mechanical and electrical components and systems
• Commercial awareness with a focus on cost control and value engineering
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Proficient in procurement systems and Microsoft Office
