Overview

Join a growing engineering services business specialising in Datacoms, Mechanical, and Electrical engineering across retail and mainstream construction environments.

Job Purpose

The HSQE Advisor plays a key role in supporting and advising on all aspects of Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental issues. The role requires a proactive approach to ensure compliance, improve safety culture, and support operational teams in maintaining best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and manage HSQE documentation, including the ISO management system and RAMS.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits, ensuring compliance with HSQE standards.
  • Assist in compiling and distributing HSQE reports.
  • Maintain and update PIC sheets, ensuring necessary actions are completed.
  • Support accident and incident reporting, including investigations.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all HSQE matters.
  • Assist with the induction of new employees and subcontractors.
  • Support the Head of HSQE in analysing data related to welfare measures (e.g., working hours, speeding reports).
  • Develop and deliver in-house training materials for HSQE awareness.
  • Monitor and review staff progress through toolbox talks and discussions.
  • Ensure statutory training requirements are met for all personnel.
  • Work with line managers to address specific training needs.
  • Ensure all equipment is compliant and fit for purpose.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

  • NEBOSH or IOSH qualification.
  • TechIOSH membership.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Strong administrative skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.

Desirable:

  • Experience in a similar HSQE role within engineering, construction, or related sectors.
  • Experience delivering HSQE training.
  • Strong presentation skills.
