Health and Safety Manager – HSE - SHE

Location: West Yorkshire

Salary: £50,000 + Car allowance

 

Overview:

Our client is seeking a Health and Safety Manager to join their team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by overseeing the implementation and management of health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines. This role involves compliance with relevant legislation, conducting risk assessments, providing safety training, leading incident investigations, and promoting continuous improvement in health and safety practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the implementation and management of health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation, standards, and guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and safety audits on project sites to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Provide health and safety training and support to all levels of staff to promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement.
  • Lead investigations into any accidents or incidents, ensuring root causes are identified and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incident reports, and training logs. Prepare and submit detailed safety reports to senior management.
  • Monitor and review health and safety practices and procedures, recommending and implementing improvements as necessary.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to integrate health and safety considerations into project planning and execution.

 

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH Construction certification
  • IOSH Membership
  • CSCS Card Holder
  • UKATA Asbestos Qualification
  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Experience as an HSE Manager, ideally within the Construction or Renewables industry
  • Proven leadership and team development skills
  • Ability to manage conflict and develop solutions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently and as part of a team
