Job Title: Head Health, Safety, and Environment Manager (HSEM)

Salary: £70,000 per annum DOE

Location: National Role (Must be prepared to travel extensively)

 

Job Overview:

You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of HSE advisors dedicated to maintaining and enhancing our client's safety and environmental standards. Your primary mission will be to keep the employees safe, ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, and promote a culture of continuous improvement in safety and environmental practices across all our operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and lead a team of HSE advisors, fostering a strong safety culture.
  • Regularly review and update risk assessments and risk management plans to ensure they are effective and compliant.
  • Oversee the reporting and investigation of accidents and incidents, ensuring that corrective actions are implemented, and lessons are learned.
  • Ensure the company holds all necessary permits to operate and complies with all environmental regulations and legislation.
  • Review and enhance safety training programs for all roles within the company.
  • Lead initiatives to maintain and improve quality standards, ensuring the company retains its accreditations.
  • Support internal and external auditing activities as required.
  • Drive the reporting of near misses and use this data to reduce the likelihood of future incidents.
  • Work closely with the Installations, Technical, Fleet, and Logistics teams and effectively liaise with Directors.

 

Skills and Experience Required:

  • The ideal candidate will have a broad range of experiences and knowledge of the energy and renewable market.
  • MUST have experience leading a large team of HSE managers and staff.

Professional Memberships:

  • PIEMA (Practitioner Membership of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment)
  • CMIOSH (Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health)

 

Qualifications: MUST hold at least one of the following qualifications and be prepared to complete all within the first year of employment:

  • Certificate of Technical Competence HROC6 and 4a
  • TAQA Training and Assessment Qualification
  • Level 3 Training Certificate
  • Lead Auditor Qualification in ISO 9001, 14001, or 45001

  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Willingness to travel extensively as part of the national role.

  • Knowledge of renewable energy is desirable but not essential.
