Electrical Site Manager

Location: Stoke on Trent
Duration: Permanent
Salary: £45,000 to £55,000 per annum + company car

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced electrical site professional who can lead installation activity safely, keep programmes on track and maintain high standards of quality? Our client is seeking an Electrical Site Manager to support the successful delivery and handover of electrical building services projects.

The Role

You will take day-to-day responsibility for supervising electrical installation works on site. Working closely with the Project Manager, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers, you will coordinate labour, materials and resources, monitor progress and act as a key site contact across either Newcastle-under-Lyme or Warrington.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise electrical installation activities in line with the agreed programme.
  • Lead site health, safety and environmental activity, including inspections, toolbox talks and the implementation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Ensure installations comply with current drawings, specifications, electrical regulations, legislation and required quality standards.
  • Coordinate directly employed labour, subcontractors, suppliers and other trades to maintain effective site operations.
  • Monitor progress, identify potential delays or issues and report promptly to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain clear communication with the Project Manager, site teams, clients and relevant stakeholders.
  • Review current project information, raise RFIs where required and support the resolution of technical or coordination issues.
  • Coordinate the delivery, storage, use and return of materials and maintain appropriate site controls.
  • Carry out quality inspections and snagging checks, ensuring defects and non-conformances are resolved.
  • Maintain accurate site records, progress updates, inspection records and other required documentation.
  • Support testing, commissioning, completion and project handover activities.
  • Support the supervision and development of site operatives, apprentices and other project team members where appropriate.
  • Use resources and materials responsibly and recycle where possible.

About You

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Electrical Installation, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • ECS/CSCS Management card or another appropriate site management card.
  • SSSTS or SMSTS qualification.
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Site Manager, Electrical Supervisor or in a similar role within M&E or construction.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical building services installations, current electrical regulations, industry standards and relevant Building Regulations.
  • Experience supervising directly employed labour, subcontractors and multi-trade activities.
  • Strong understanding of construction programmes, site operations, project delivery and health, safety and environmental requirements.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills, with the ability to prioritise site activity and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality and ability to work effectively as part of a wider project team.
  • Full UK driving licence.

 

Desirable

 

  • HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing or equivalent.
  • IOSH Managing Safely and First Aid at Work qualifications.
  • Experience across healthcare, education, commercial, industrial or public-sector environments.
  • Knowledge of NEC and JCT forms of contract.
  • Experience working with BIM and digital project information.
  • AP (Authorised Person) and/or HV/LV experience.
  • Asbestos Awareness.
