Commercial Gas Engineer

Location: Greater Manchester
Salary: £39,140 - £43,260 per annum (depending on qualifications) + on-target earnings + company van & fuel + excellent benefits
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent (40 hours per week)

 

Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Gas Engineer to join their team in Greater Manchester. They are a specialist heating services provider, delivering gas installation, maintenance, servicing, and energy solutions to public, domestic, and commercial clients across the UK.

Key Responsibilities for the Commercial Gas Engineer:

  • Service, maintenance, and breakdown of commercial gas and solid fuel heating systems
  • Carry out installation work when required
  • Undertake planned and reactive maintenance tasks
  • Perform PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) activities
  • Complete paperwork, including production of technical and situational reports
  • Report all accidents, near misses, or potential hazards
  • Carry out all maintenance works within remit
  • Participate in out-of-hours work, including overtime & 24-hour call-out (as per the rota)

What We’re Looking For – Commercial Gas Engineer:

  • Commercial gas and heating experience with relevant qualifications:
    • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent
    • Commercial gas qualifications: CODNCO1, COCN1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, TPCP1, TPCP1A, CCN1, CENWAT
    • Desirable but not essential: COMCAT, CCCN1, CCLNG1, OFTEC, LPG, ASHP, UNVENTED, Solar/Renewable qualifications
  • Strong knowledge of current gas legislation and regulations
  • Experience working in local authority/social housing
  • Familiarity with a variety of commercial and domestic appliances and installations
  • Comprehensive technical skills, including fault-finding and rectification
  • Good knowledge of major manufacturers such as Vaillant, Powermatic, Riello, Broag, Combat, Ambi-Rad, Ideal, Potterton, Nu Way, and Worcester
  • BMS/controls knowledge (desirable)
  • Plumbing skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety and working to best practices
