Yard Operative / CNC Machine Operative (Timber Cutting) – Dinnington, Sheffield

£14.83 per hour | Temp to Perm | Monday–Thursday 8.00am–5.00pm, Friday 8.00am–4.00pm

Multitask Personnel is recruiting for a well-established, globally recognised manufacturing business specialising in advanced formwork solutions and construction support services. Based in Dinnington, Sheffield, this employer is renowned for delivering high-quality products and maintaining exceptional safety and operational standards across all sites.

We are seeking an experienced and reliable individual to join their pre-assembly team on a temp-to-perm basis.

Role Overview - Yard Operative / CNC Machine Operative

The successful candidate will play a key role in the pre-assembly department, primarily operating a CNC Biesse 5-axis machine to cut timber components to precise specifications. During periods of machine downtime, the role will involve supporting general yard operations to ensure a safe, clean and organised working environment.

This position is ideal for someone with a solid background in CNC operations who also values flexibility and teamwork in supporting overall site operations.

Key Responsibilities - Yard Operative / CNC Machine Operative

• Operate the CNC Biesse 5-axis machine for timber cutting, ensuring accuracy, quality and safety at all times
• Support the pre-assembly production process to meet delivery schedules and maintain high standards
• Perform general yard operative duties, including maintaining site cleanliness and order
• Assist with the loading, unloading and organising of materials as required
• Adhere strictly to all health and safety policies and procedures

Person Specification

• Experience operating CNC machinery (ideally 5-axis), or strong experience in timber cutting or joinery
• Comfortable undertaking physical tasks in a yard environment
• Reliable, punctual and adaptable to varying priorities
• Committed to safe working practices and maintaining a tidy workspace
• Strong teamwork and communication skills

• Pay Rate: £14.83 per hour
• Working Hours: Monday–Thursday 8.00am–5.00pm, Friday 8.00am–4.00pm
• Contract Type: Temp to Perm – with the opportunity for permanent employment following successful performance
