Our client is a leading provider of mechanical and electrical building services and facilities management solutions, delivering high-quality service across a wide range of sectors. They’re growing fast and are now looking for an experienced Billing Manager to join their finance team.

As Billing Manager, you’ll take ownership of the end-to-end invoicing process across the FM division. You’ll ensure all billing is accurate, timely, and compliant, working closely with operations and finance teams to streamline processes and drive continuous improvement.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking accountability, improving systems, and mentoring others in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities – Billing Manager

• Oversee preparation and issue of client invoices in line with contracts and SLAs
• Ensure billing accuracy and completeness against job orders and work schedules
• Manage recurring and ad-hoc invoicing cycles, including maintenance and project works
• Support month-end close with billing reconciliations and revenue accruals
• Collaborate with finance and operations to improve billing accuracy and cash flow
• Act as the main point of contact for client billing queries and disputes
• Line-manage and mentor a Finance Administrator
• Drive process improvements and implement automation where possible

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven billing/invoicing experience within FM, construction, or similar
• Strong knowledge of financial processes and revenue recognition
• Proficiency with ERP or accounting systems (Sage, Xero, Dynamics, etc.)
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables)
• Experience leading or supervising staff
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills

Desirable

• Experience in a multi-site or group structure
• Familiarity with CAFM or job management systems
• Understanding of VAT, CIS, and industry-specific billing requirements
