Accounts Assistant
Location: Thurnscoe, Rotherham
Salary: £26,437 - £30,000 per annum (DOE)
Contract: Permanent, Full Time, Office Based
Multitask Personnel are pleased to be working with our client, a UK-based utility and energy services company specialising in gas, electricity and EV charging solutions for domestic, commercial and industrial clients.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking a proactive and organised Accounts Assistant to join their team in Thurnscoe. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous accounts or finance administration experience who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced and supportive business environment.
The Role
The Accounts Assistant will provide day-to-day administrative and transactional support to the Accounts Manager, ensuring customer and supplier records, invoices, payments, project information and business administration are maintained accurately and efficiently.
You will work closely with the wider office and operational teams, supporting a variety of finance, administration and reporting activities that help keep the business running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Ledger & Customer Administration
- Raising and processing customer invoices
- Uploading invoices and supporting documentation to customer portals
- Maintaining accurate customer records and account information
- Assisting with monitoring outstanding invoices and customer payment information
- Responding to routine invoice and account queries
Purchase Ledger & Supplier Administration
- Processing supplier invoices and maintaining supplier records
- Supporting invoice reconciliation activities
- Preparing information for supplier payments
- Liaising with suppliers regarding invoice queries and discrepancies
- Allocating invoices to the correct projects and cost centres
Financial Administration
- Recording bank transactions and receipts
- Assisting with payment processing
- Supporting month-end reconciliation activities
- Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
- Ensuring all information is filed and recorded correctly
Project & Contract Support
- Maintaining project trackers and documentation
- Updating project costs and invoice records
- Supporting monthly reporting requirements
- Assisting with client and contract administration
- Tracking outstanding actions and following up with colleagues where required
General Administration
- Providing administrative support to the Accounts Manager and wider management team
- Managing emails and responding to routine requests
- Preparing documents, spreadsheets and correspondence
- Supporting meeting coordination and office administration
- Assisting with employee administration, onboarding and HR-related tasks
- Supporting vehicle administration and record management
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience within an accounts, finance administration, commercial support or office administration role
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills and a professional approach
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook and Word
- Experience working with spreadsheets, databases and business systems
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- A proactive approach with the confidence to identify and escalate issues when required
Desirable Experience
- Experience using Sage or similar accounting software
- Sales ledger and purchase ledger experience
- Experience processing invoices and using customer or supplier portals
- Previous experience within utilities, construction, infrastructure or another operational environment
- Exposure to HR, fleet or business administration activities

- Salary of £26,437 - £30,000 per annum, dependent on experience
