Mechanical Contracts Manager

Our client is a successful business providing design, installation and maintenance services within the commercial sector with dominance in the leisure/retail sectors throughout the North of England. Due to continued expansion they are looking to recruit an additional Mechanical Manager to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and highly organised individual to join our North East office as a Contract Manager responsible for managing mechanical/gas services.

You will:

• Oversee mechanical reactive maintenance along with small/medium refurbishment projects
• Build strong working relationships with client surveyors and area building managers
• Demonstrate management skills in order to lead and manage a small team of Mechanical Engineers
• Assist the Mechanical Director to analyse labour resource requirement
• Work with Co-ordinators to effectively plan weekly labour schedules
• Be aware of KPI’s, order values, client chasers, and internal deadlines and operatives skills/qualifications
• Communicate weekly programme of works to operatives and subsequent changes on a daily basis
• Contribute to the weekly planning meetings
• Prepare quotation submissions to clients within agreed timescales
• Analyse and review client designs, specifications, drawings and other work requirements.

• You will have:

• at least five years practical mechanical experience preferably gained working within the reactive/maintenance sector
• Experience of managing Health & Safety
• Experience of supervising or managing a small team of mechanical engineers
• Ordering, estimating and quoting experience
• Planning and monitoring work in progress
• Independence and Commitment
• Team working skills
